when i was 16 and in hogh school i worked at a fast food restraunt and it was one of the worst things i could have done, i would work 25 -28 hours per week and my parents were totally unhappy with it but i did it anywase,
Graduated with a 1.94 gpa, smelled like burgers,
all this for 4.90 per hour.
It can affect you by adding stress, which is not necessarily a bad thing; it just depends on how well you cope with stress and how much stress you already have in your life.
Depending on the number of hours you are working, plus the hours of school and homework, and any added responsibilities you may have at home, it can reduce the number of hours you are able to sleep. This can affect mood, alertness, ability to think quickly and remember clearly, and your immune system. Some studies have suggested that teens need 8-1/2 to 10 hours of sleep for optimal health.
On the positive side, having a job can lead to increased self-esteem and good mental health by increasing your chances of making friends and work-related contacts, givig you the feeling that you are contributing to something worthwhile, and helping you to form self identity. The added income also allows greater independence.
it cant
Technically yes…but if it is then you’re doing it wrong. I held a Job for 2 years of high school and I was in perfect health. so if your health is affected the most likely reason is either you’re overly stressed about school or you’re in a job that isn’t good for you. Either way you might want to consider leaving your current job
lack of rest
the biggest issue with work and school is many teenagers try to do to much and don’t get enough rest. once your body gets tired it is more susceptible to simple diseases and illness.
