Can I have two health insurance coverage plans?
I have health insurance coverage at my job but my husband’s employment also covers me. Can I take both health insurance?

yeah, you can. One will act as the primary insurance and the other will pick up were the first left off. Leaving you to pay no out of pocket expense usually. Check into it tho

If you have to pay for one of the plans out of your own pocket then, of course, you should drop one.
The only other caveat I would throw in there is that when there is double coverage like you have, usually neither plan wants to be the primary insurer and both plans want the other one to pay any claims. You should check into that because you may get into a situation where both plans tell you to file your claim with the other insurer and refuse to honor your claim.

In order to make the best decision, you need to look at what your husband’s COB (Coordination of Benefits) policy is, what, if any, other benefits are available on his that yours does not have and what it costs you to be covered on his plan in premiums each month.
Yours is always primary for you and his is secondary. If his will only pay up to what his would have paid as primary, there is no benefit to having both unless there is a benefit that yours does not cover at all that you use (e.g.chiropractic).
